Read the price lists behind persona costs

Find the two reference lists Zonitix uses to estimate what a persona costs: software prices per person, and hardware models with their cost. Know what they are and what they are not.

For: AdministratorPlan: All plans

Before you start

  • A role that lets you manage security settings. That shows Security & ComplianceSecurity Settings in your menu. In the built-in set, administrators have that permission. The “security_analyst” role has it too; no group carries it, so an administrator gives it to a person by hand, as Roles, groups and permissions shows.
Both lists are read-only. They are the reference prices that came with Zonitix. Nothing refreshes them from the vendors, and you cannot add to them or edit them on these pages. Treat every cost figure built from them as an estimate.

Software prices

  1. Step 1: Open SaaS Pricing

Go to Security & ComplianceSecurity Settings and choose “SaaS Pricing” in the list on the left, under “Directory & Access”. The card on the left is headed “Pricing Catalog”; the table on the right is “Vendor Seat Plans Catalog”.

  2. Step 2: Read the table

“VENDOR” is the software company. “PLAN TIER” is the level of subscription. “PRICE / SEAT” is the price for one person, marked “/ month” or “/ year”: the list mixes both, so check the unit before comparing two rows. “LAST UPDATED” is the date of that reference price.

Hardware models

  1. Step 3: Open Device Catalog

On the same page, choose “Device Catalog”. The table on the right is “Standard Hardware Models Catalog”.

  2. Step 4: Read the table

“MANUFACTURER” and “MODEL NAME” identify the machine. “TYPE” says what kind of device it is. “EST. COST” is an estimated price for one unit.

Where the figures are used

  1. Step 5: Check a persona's cost against them

When you build a persona under AdministrationUser Personas, the one-time, monthly and Year 1 costs shown for it are worked out from these two lists. See Create a persona.

Before a spending or renewal decision, compare the figures with your own contracts and with what you actually pay. What you really spend on software is tracked separately, from your bills: see Track what you spend on software.

What you should see

On “SaaS Pricing”, a blue notice headed “No vendor price feed is connected” and a long table of vendors and plans.

On “Device Catalog”, a blue notice headed “No hardware catalog feed is connected” and a table of models.

There is no save button on either page, because there is nothing to change.

If something goes wrong

A price is wrong, or an app or laptop model you use is missing
The lists cannot be edited from the app. Use the persona cost as a guide only, and tell Zonitix support which entry is wrong or missing.
"The pricing catalog could not be loaded." or "Could not load the device catalog."
Click Retry where it is offered, or reload the page. If it keeps failing, check System Health and contact Zonitix support.
"The pricing catalog is empty." or "No hardware models in the catalog yet."
Your instance holds no reference list. Persona cost estimates are worked out from it, so contact Zonitix support.
One price looks twelve times higher than the others
It is probably a yearly price. Check whether the row says / year or / month.

Still stuck? See When something goes wrong, or Contact Zonitix support.
