Read your license and plan screen
See which plan your instance is on, which features are switched on, whether it is in touch with Zonitix, and what a person sees when a feature is not in your plan.
Before you start
- A role that lets you manage security settings. In the built-in set, administrators have that permission. The “security_analyst” role has it too; no group carries it, so an administrator gives it to a person by hand, as Roles, groups and permissions shows. Without it the “License & Entitlements” page is not in your sidebar.
- Nothing to set up. Your instance is licensed automatically, and there is no license key to type in anywhere on this page.
- One word to know: a heartbeat is the regular check-in your instance sends to Zonitix to confirm its license and plan. It is in Words used in these guides.
Read the screen
Step 1: Open the page
Go to SystemLicense & Entitlements. The large card on the left is “Instance Entitlements”. The right-hand column holds “System Instance Details”, “Heartbeat Health” and two buttons.
Step 2: Check your plan and status
Under the card title, “Tier:” names your plan: Core, Team or Advanced. “Not synced yet” means the instance is active but the plan name has not arrived yet; “Not activated” means it is not active.
The label at the top right of the card is the license status. “Active” is the normal state. “Waiting for activation” means the instance is registered and Zonitix has not activated it yet. “Not registered yet” means it has not reached Zonitix to register; it retries on its own. “No licence” means it has not been set up with one. For anything other than “Active”, a box under the title says what happens next.
Step 3: Read the feature list
“FEATURE COVERAGE” counts how many features are switched on. Below it are two lists. “BASELINE CAPABILITIES” are on in every plan, for example “Device Management”, “MFA”, “Org Chart” and “Workflow Builder”. “PREMIUM ENTITLEMENTS” depend on your plan. The full list by plan is in Which Plan Includes What.
Each feature shows one of four words. “ACTIVE”: your plan includes it and it is on. “INACTIVE”: your plan does not include it. “NOT SYNCED”: Zonitix has not told this instance about that feature yet, which is not the same as your plan leaving it out. “PAUSED”: your plan includes it, but it is held back because the subscription has lapsed (step 8).
Step 4: Check the instance details
“Customer Reference” is the company name the license is held under, and “Network Node ID” is the identifier of this instance. Quote both if you write to support. The “AUTOMATIC SYNC” note says that any change to your plan or entitlements is applied on the next heartbeat, with nothing to do here.
Check the connection to Zonitix
Step 5: Read the heartbeat
At the bottom of the left card, “REAL-TIME SYNCHRONIZATION” shows “Last Heartbeat”, “Sync Health” and a countdown under “Next Scheduled”.
The “Heartbeat Health” card says how the recent check-ins went: “OK”, “Warning”, “Grace expired” or “Unavailable”, with “Consecutive failures” and “Grace remaining”. “Alert after” and “Grace window” are set by Zonitix and shown for reference. A failed heartbeat does not switch anything off: the card says so, and the instance carries on with the last license it confirmed.
Step 6: Sync now
To check in straight away, for example after a plan change, click “Force Sync Heartbeat”. When the instance has not registered yet, the same button reads “Retry registration”. A green message means the check-in got through. If it did not, a red message stays at the top of the page and says why.
When a feature is not in your plan
Step 7: What people see
The feature shows “INACTIVE” on this page, and its pages are left out of the sidebar. Someone who opens an old bookmark or link to it gets a screen headed “License Required” that names the feature and says it is not included in your current plan. It has a “GO BACK” button and, for people who may open this page, a “VIEW LICENSE” button. No data is lost.
To add the feature, contact Zonitix. Once your plan is changed, the feature turns “ACTIVE” at the next heartbeat, or as soon as you sync (step 6).
Step 8: When the subscription has lapsed
A yellow or red box on the left card gives the date the subscription ended and the date premium features pause. After that date they show “PAUSED”. Core features and all your data keep working. Contact Zonitix to renew; your invoices and plan are in the customer console on this website, described in Your Zonitix account on this website. The full rule, including who sees the notice, is in License Administration.
What you should see
The status label reads “Active”, “Tier:” shows your plan, and every feature in your plan reads “ACTIVE”.
“Sync Health” reads “SUCCESS” and “Heartbeat Health” reads “OK” with 0 consecutive failures.
After a manual sync, a green message reads “Heartbeat/Sync forced successfully.”
If something goes wrong
- The page says "Couldn't load the license status"
- Nothing has been switched off. Click Retry; the page also tries again by itself every minute. If it keeps failing, check System, System Health.
- A feature you expect shows NOT SYNCED
- Zonitix has not sent that feature to this instance yet. Click “Force Sync Heartbeat”. If it still reads NOT SYNCED afterwards, contact Zonitix support with your Network Node ID.
- After a sync, a red message says no heartbeat was sent
- The instance is not activated yet, so there was nothing to check in. The message says which state it is in. Waiting for activation needs Zonitix to activate it; not registered yet retries on its own.
- Heartbeat Health shows Warning or Grace expired
- Several check-ins in a row have failed, usually because the server could not reach Zonitix. Your features keep working. Check the server has internet access, then sync again. If it does not clear, contact Zonitix support.
- The sync button is greyed out
- Hover over it. Either the status could not be loaded, or the instance has no license yet and registers on its own once it is set up.
